Speaker: Dr. Karen van Wyk- Family Physician, Hospitalist, Menopause Society Certified, IFM Certified

Fatigue. Brain fog. Weight changes. Poor sleep. Mood shifts. Most women are told these experiences are simply part of getting older- but “normal” does not always mean optimal, and most

women deserve a deeper understanding of what’s really driving these changes.

Dr. Karen van Wyk, Medical Director of Healthcode for Women and Menopause Society-certified practitioner, offers exactly that. Drawing on functional medicine, hormonal science, and root-cause diagnostics, she will unpack the complex physiological changes that occur during midlife and explain how hormones, inflammation, stress, nutrition, and lifestyle factors influence the way women feel, function, and age.

This engaging and empowering session will provide a clearer understanding of what is happening beneath the surface and how seemingly unrelated symptoms can often be connected. Attendees will gain practical, evidence-based strategies to support energy, cognitive function, metabolic health, sleep quality, and overall resilience. You’ll learn how to become a more informed advocate for your own health, ask better questions, and take proactive steps before symptoms become chronic conditions.

Because your health is more than a measure of how you feel today- it is the foundation of your vitality, independence, and quality of life for decades to come. By understanding the science behind midlife health, you can make more confident decisions, build a stronger future, and invest in the asset that matters most: yourself.

Over the coming years, women are expected to control approximately $4.5 trillion in wealth across Canada, representing one of the most significant wealth transfers in history.  Navigating today’s evolving investment landscape has never been more important. Against a backdrop of shifting interest rates, inflation, geopolitical uncertainty, and rapid technological innovation, investors are faced with important questions about where opportunities may emerge- and how portfolios should be allocated.

Our panel of accomplished female portfolio managers will explore the role of asset classes including equities, fixed income, and commodities. Drawing on their expertise, they will share insights into portfolio construction, diversification, active management, and most importantly, managing risk.  Attendees will gain insights into where the panel sees opportunity today, the factors likely to shape investment returns in the years ahead, and how to build resilient portfolios that support long-term goals. Whether you are growing wealth, preparing for retirement, or managing a family legacy, this session will provide practical insights to help you invest with greater confidence, clarity, and purpose.

How you build your wealth is not the same strategy as how you keep it. As women increasingly play a leading role in family wealth, business ownership, philanthropy, and financial decision-making, understanding the legal, tax, and practical considerations of estate and succession planning has never been more important.

In this insightful discussion, our panel of legal, trust, and estate experts will explore the strategies that help families navigate wealth transfer with confidence and clarity. Topics will include estate planning, trusts, incapacity planning, beneficiary designations, family dynamics, business succession, charitable giving, and preserving wealth across generations.  Panelists will share common pitfalls they encounter, emerging trends in estate and legacy planning, and the conversations every family should be having before a crisis occurs. Whether your goal is to protect loved ones, support future generations, or create a meaningful legacy, this session will provide valuable insights to help ensure your wealth reflects the life, values, and impact you wish to leave behind.

2:20PM-3:20PM: Session 4- Life in Motion: Navigating Women’s Transitions with Confidence and Wealth

Women’s lives are shaped by meaningful transitions- entering the workforce, advancing careers, family formation, taking time for caregiving, navigating relationship changes, or redefining priorities later in life. Each stage brings not only personal change, but important financial decisions that can impact long-term wealth.

This session explores how to align your financial strategy with the realities of your life journey. We’ll examine key milestones, from building early financial foundations and negotiating career growth, to adapting to major life changes, and planning for legacy.  Attendees will gain practical insights to help them navigate change with confidence, including how to adapt financial plans during transitions, advocate for themselves professionally, and make informed decisions that support both short-term stability and long-term prosperity.  Ultimately, this session is about more than money. It’s about recognizing that every life transition, whether planned or unexpected, is an opportunity to strengthen your financial position and take greater ownership of your future.
